A blend should have varying flavors, but varying flavors that don't contradict the goal of blending. It should be smooth and plesent very drinkable.
Kern River's Belgian blend is a nice offering it is a very enjoyable brew. With that said I would find it much more enjoyable if it were bottle aged for awhile. As of right now the woody flavors stand out a bit too much which creates an uneven balance in the beverage.
Apperance is a light ruby color with a thin head. Aroma is a bit lacking but from a Belgian trippel and Belgian amber you wouldn't expect a huge nose. A very drinkable big beer is the story here. Let's hope KRBC holds back a bit of this till the flavors blend together a littlemore.

A: A golden orange/amber color with plenty of off-white foam on top.

S: This is a really great smelling beer. Plenty of fruits--peaches, pears, apricots-- with a nice sugary, Belgian background and some pleasant oak and vanilla aromas. The wine does not seem to be that big of a factor, however.

T: Like the nose, this one has a really solid fruit character which goes along nicely with the sweetness of the sugar and malt. A hint of yeasty esters and spice.

M: Despite the sweetness, this beer has managed to be a bit dry. The body is a bit weak, but the other aspects of the beer make up for it.

D: The barrel aged KRBC beers seem to have a bit of a problem with the body, but nothing wrong with their flavor. Another nice beer from this brewery.
