This one hits pretty wild. It’s extremely soft and delicate like a mother bears touch. That being said, there’s this little snap in the end that might take some time to get used to. OG WCIPA is like watching Ty Cobb dig into the batters box, yet instead of going the other way with a smooth single, the crazy son of a gun pulls a ripper down the line and over the fences . Yes. A surprise, and a very unexpected one at that…

As I continue on and get more accustomed with this beauty, it’s Ty Cobb all the way (minus the racism and bad temper of course). If you let things be and truly take a look into it, you’ll see that it’s Hall of Fame quality all the way.

The ducks are on the pound, my children.

16 oz can into a nonic pint glass

Beer is nearly perfect…tastes like an early Kern brew, or something Russian River would do. Big, dank wafts of hoppy volatiles make for a strong, pungent nose, which follow through with a hop wallop on the palate. Notes of pine and grapefruit rind are perfectly offset by a bold, caramelly malt backbone. Hints of butterscotch toward the end of the sip, which finishes quick and crisp.

Brew pays homage to ‘OG’ Cali brewers making IPA’s like this decades ago. Ironically, the beer looks like a hazy, with an opaque, cloudy appearance…doesn’t taste like it.
