Why mess with a good thing? Well, why not? We took our award-winning Citra DIPA recipe and folded in a new varietal from Indie Hops and the Oregon State Aroma Hop Breeding Program (formerly known as X-331 and now officially named Strata). With complex layers of Strawberry, Passionfruit and Cannabis, this hot new variety pairs perfectly with the fruit-forward characteristics of Citra. Enjoy this limited release while it lasts!

On tap at the brewpub in Kernville, into a pint glass.
I just reread my Citra review from 13 years ago and even though, at the time, I thought the beer was named after its flavonoid nuances (rather than a hop variety), everything else still stands. And in my defense, no other Citra-based brew has better captured the citrusy flavor aspects than this one. So rather than rewriting the whole thing, I’ll just note that adding strata hops had its exact intent on the brew - it doesn’t make it ‘better or worse’, as it’s VERY close to the original. But just slightly colors the beer at the margins. It’s a little ‘dryer’, and maybe a little grassier and a bit more dank in the nose.
If I had to pick one, I’d probably go OG, but this is damn good and just reminds me of what a pleasure it’s been to be able to readily access this beer over the years. Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
