CKUW, the University of Winnipeg campus radio station, has partnered with Half Pints Brewing to create a Fundrive beer to raise funds for the radio station.
This is a blended beer that utilizes local hops, including a dryhop addition of Centennial and Falconer's Flight, and local malts. The beer has been clarified by having a stereo playing nothing but CKUW placed below the tank until it was bottled. The sonic vibrations from CKUW aided in the maturing of the beer according to brewmaster Dave Rudge.

Thanks to Kjyost for this one.
A - Poured with a half finger white head gone to a film and a chunk in the corner. Really hazy, dark gold colour. Good amount of visible carbonation. Ring of retention remains but no lacing.
S - Lemon, grass, and some citrus hop.
T - Some sweet malt and a good dose of hops follow. Lemony and a little spice. Hints of a wheat beer.
M - No real bitterness but very refreshing and smooth. Strong carbonation and a body just barely making it to medium. Sorta creamy feel.
O/D - Quite nice. Refreshing and good. For the style it's good and very drinkable.

Saison like one-off. Medium golden coloured body, and aggressively carbonated. Thinnish mouthfeel.Barest hops. Sourish notes. Saison yeast. Some caramel, or more of it, would be nice.I wouldn't have this again, but it was fun to try. Thanks Tbakniak.

341ml split into some taster glasses. Thanks Sammy.
Pours an unfiltered pale gold, with a big soapy white head. Some sticky lace and mild retention. Nose has some toasty breadiness, citrus rind and a slight grassy note. Taste has more of this citrus rund, some lemon and orange and again some toastiness. Big tartness in the feel and leaves a prolonged sourness on the palate (a product of the yeast?) and almost felt saison-like in nature. Interesting feel to it, having the sample was enough.

12 ounce bottle- light orange pour with excellent clarity and moderate head and fine lacing. Nose- some herbal hops, cereal grain. Taste- initially extremely grainy, grassy hops in the background with a punch of biscuit like malt character. Light bodied and crisp carbonation.

Bottle purchased fresh at brewery, poured cold into a beer mug.
A: Pours a yellowish brown, leaning more towards the yellow side of the spectrum, halfway between a lager ad an amber. Fizzy white head, descends quickly and leaves little to no lacing.
S: Very enjoyable aroma of fruity hops, with a slight earthiness beneath it along with a healthy does of crackers. Makes you look forward to each and every sip...
T: The fruity hops are there and playing well with the earthiness in the nose. A slight sweetness in the body along with that dose of biscuit / cracker lingers and keeps the bitterness away. Some fruity esters linger longly on the palate, almost too much so.
M: Average carbonation, no lingering bitterness.
D: Very enjoyable. I prefer this special release to the somewhat similar British Bulldog as I found that yeast to have delivered too many fruity esters, and this one had a cleaner taste profile will an enjoyable malt presence.

A: Pours a clear deep golden almost orange with a fizzy white head. Settles to a thin cap and left quite a bit of lace.
S: It has a nice hoppy aroma with some bready/biscuit notes. As it warms the bready/biscuit notes become more prominent.
T: Has a biscuity taste up front with some faint hops. It reminds me of their St. James Pale Ale or Bulldog Amber Ale.
M: Medium carbonation with a light to medium body.
D: Picked this up today from Half Pints. There's nothing crazy about this beer like some offerings by Half Pints but it's still really good. I might need to go back there to get some more before they're all gone. The label is also really cool on this beer.
