Poured from a bomber into a stemmed tulip glass and shared with friends
Thanks to kjyost for the bottle!!
(3.75/3.5/3.5/3.75/3.5)
Pours a clear mahogany brown with a thin bubbly head that falls fast leaving no lacing. The nose has a distinct metallic overtone; also lots of butter, caramel and sweet, dark pit fruit. The taste follows suit and starts out sweet with dark fit fruit and caramel but quickly bitters out and finishes with burnt sugar and metallic notes. It has medium body and low carbonation made this beer slick and a bit cloying.

Appearance: Dark brown to copper. Two finger head fading into a nice puck, no lacing.
Smell: Rasin, dark fruits, alcohol, spices and melon
Taste: Rasin, toasty malts, rum alcohol and wine. Hops come through for some bitterness on the finish.
Mouth feel: Good carbonation, medium to full body.
Overall: Decent beer. Lots to offer for the style. I wouldn't rush out to get it again but that is mostly because the style isn't my favorite.

Beer is dark brown in colour. Poured cold, a very minimal white head.
Smell is malty and bready. Rich dark fruit scents as well, raisin and grape.
Taste is very malty, bready. Fig and raisin. While there is a fair bit of sweetness, the finish contains a dry yeasty flavour that is a little unfortunate.
Full bodied, moderate carbonation level. Booze is a bit noticeable.
Overall, decent. The finish is disappointing. Otherwise pretty good.
