Following the debut of our Belgian-style Tripel, comes a Heritage Avenue-brewed Smuttlabs tripel, aged on chardonnay oak. You’ll notice a few differences between this and the Big Beer Series version. Vanilla and pear highlight the aroma, while a soft malt flavor is accentuated with juicy fruit notes.

A: Poured a golden amber with a short whitish head that fades to a chunky lace.
S: Belgian yeast, fruits and lots of sweetness, characteristic of the tripel base. The barrel comes through as well and adds a nice oaky and vanilla character to round out the nose.
T: Similar to the nose with a nice yeasty, fruity and sweet character up front but balanced by the barrel with some fruity notes, oak, and vanilla. Nice and complex.
M: Medium bodied and extremely smooth with very little alcohol noticeable given it's size, this could be dangerous.
O: I was quite impressed by this and glad I got to try. Well done from Smuttynose!
