On-tap at Mugs Alehouse, Brooklyn, NY
A: The beer is clear golden yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that left a collar around the edge and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of floral hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of floral and citrusy hops along with a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and slightly crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is rather easy to drink, particularly since it is not really bitter at all.
Serving type: on-tap

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very slightly hazy reddish orange color, with a small white head, and a bit of lacing.
Smells like orange peel, overripe grapefruit, some perfume and a bit of soapiness.
This has a pretty solid flavor, but it's a tiny bit soapy and perfumy on the finish. It's got a super oily hop flavor, slightly resinous, bubblegum, orange, peach, and other fruity hops.
This is light bodied, soft and oily, with a good level of carbonation.
This has a couple off-flavors but it's overall fairly well constructed.

Sample at the brewery last week.
Slightly hazy deep yellow with a decent white head. Earthy pine resinous with a hint of tropical and grass. Light bready toasty malt deep underneath and a hint of warming. I was told this is the first of several test batches before the final recipe is released. I will update my rate as I taste other versions.

I had 12oz of this yesterday at the brewery. This is the first of 3 experimental DIPAs being formulated, with the best recipe moving forward to become a regular in the Smutty lineup, replacing Big A.
It was a rich, clear, medium golden color. Had some carbo slowly bubbling topside, with a thin, white head and some traces of lace. Nose was mild, with some rindy bitterness present. Body was medium, and the feel was solid, overall.
Flavor had lots of bitterness, with only a slight hint of toasty malt. It was quite rindy and piney, with even a smidge of mint showing up. The bitterness lingered long in the finish. Wish it had more malt and sweetness for balance, but still good. Prosit!
