Serviceable but not exceptional, balanced with English Malts and mild hops coming thru. Well executed but not inspired.

Tried 12oz of this latest DIPA test batch at Smutty today....
Poured a clear, medium-golden color. Had some scattered, slow-moving carbo rising up. Head was a thin, fine white layer of suds.... lacing was solid, though. Aroma had a touch of the sweeter citrus, moreso than the bitter citrus also present. Body was a nice medium, with a fairly smooth tongue feel.
Taste had some crackery, toasty malt sweetness initially... then it was hop time! Had a touch of sweetness, with a good blend of various citrus flavors. Had more of the sweeter stuff, like apricot and tangerine, overshadowing the bitter grapefruit. Was a touch pithy and rindy near the finish. The balance of sweet/bitter was spot-on, though. My fave of the three experimental Smuttlabs DIPAs! Prosit!
