From the tugboats of Portsmouth Harbor to the far north reaches of picturesque Connecticut Lake, New Hampshire is far more than a collection of rivers, mountains and forests – it’s a state of mind, a slice of heaven, a way of life. Rugged and beautiful, it inspires us to seize every day with both hands, hitting the pillow each night a little better than when we woke up.
New Hampshire Pale Ale – a brand-new offering from Smuttynose Brewing Co. – is this mantra in liquid form. Artfully brewed at the intersection of distinct flavor and exceptional drinkability, it’s the beer we created for the lifestyle that we love – always thankful for what we have, always aspiring for more.
Malts: 2 Row Silo Malt, White Wheat, Carapils
Hops: Crystal, Saphir, Lemondrop™, Hüll Melon
Yeast: Chico

Not too impressive. No hop aroma, decent body, rather non-memorable, watery. Having trouble filling out a 150 characters for this. Nothing to recommend. That's it!

A: crystal clear; pale gold in color; 1 finger finely pored white head that receded to a wispy cap; OK lacing;
S: grassy, smells more like a pilsner than an APA;
T: virtually no flavor; a hint of lemon; moderate bitterness on the finish;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: odd lack of flavor and the aroma was off for the style;

From the 12 fl. oz. can dated 12/19/19. Sampled March 13, 2020.
Yellow pour with a chill haze and a modest lacing leaving white head.
The aroma is at first like Saltine crackers or more precisely Graham crackers. Then there is the floral and pine sensation that comes up behind.
The mouthfeel is light to medium but fairly smooth.
There is a cracker and sweet character as I take the first sip. As I sip it some more I pick up more of the floral and pine hope finish. Generally crisp and clean. Nothing special. I miss their Shoal's Pale Ale.

Picked-up as part of a mixed twelve-pack at Kappy's in Norwell for about fifteen dollars. Have had many brews from these guys before. I enjoyed this, would get again.

12 Oz can poured into glass
Look - Pale yellow color, medium foam head and some lacing on glass
Smell - lemon zest, grass, orange, pine/herbs
Taste - A simple beer but there is a good amount of hop flavor. Hops are earthy with a shot of sweet citrus. Nothing specific really. A little soapy. Carbonation is medium-high and body is medium. Tastes like sweet tarts tbh.
Overall, a clean pale ale that has some decent flavor. It's not piney at all which makes it somewhat unique. I could drink a few of these a week. Grade is a B+

Can from Bert's
Hazy lemon yellow in color with a thin white head that dissipates. Bready light caramel maltiness lemony citrus and light pine. Old school feel, pretty clean and tasty.
