Had seen this teased on their menu as "up next" for over a month now... Just happened into Smuttlabs Kitchen today by accident and they had it on! Dag Gummit!! Sign me up!!! A 12oz pour (or 2!) set me back $8.00 per....
Poured into a nice Smutty sniftah, it was a lovely, rich, clear, dark chestnut color. Had light carbo and a creamy, light beige head. Foam was very fine, and mostly hung at the rim, with excellent lacing. Nose had rich caramel and toffee, plus piney, resiny citrus. Body was a solid medium; no more, no less, with a smooth feel.
Flavor? More toffee, which was very nice! Then came more resiny, piney action, with nary a hint of bitterness. Had some boozy warmth along with pithy hops lingering lovingly on the palate in the finish. Well worth the wait! Prosit!!
