Amber with a 1/2" light tan head, which lasts. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is floral, toffee, caramel, pine.
Taste follows nose: Toffee, caramel, pine.
Medium body, lively carbonation. Dry, resinous finish.
Toffee is an unusal but nice flavor in an IPA.

From a 16 oz. can date 04/27/22. Sampled on September 3, 2022.
It is an attractive looking beer with its copper-medium amber appearance and lingering cream colored head.
Aroma: It is an older can so the hops come across as dank and resiny but maybe a but stale with a notable caramel and toffee malt presence. Little to no booze.
Smooth medium mouthfeel.
The taste is sweet but the older hops make this come across as stale and resiny. Mild bitterness. Some booze warms the back of my throat. An adequate but nothing extraordinary beer.

The date code is hard to read but it it is on the outer edge of the bottom of the can and appears to say "CANNED ON 04/27/22 14:28"
Appearance: The body has a burnished gold color that has pretty good clarity with a hint of haze that allows slightly fuzzy shadows through the glass. It has a large fluffy white head with a creamy surface pock-marked with craters and tapioca ball sized bubbles. It has very good head retention and nice slopes of lacing that stick to the glass.
Aroma: It smells like candied orange peel.
Taste: Similar to the aroma, candied orange peel and lightly toasted caramel comes through at first on the tongue. The flavors are good and simple. There is a light grassy note towards the finish. Slight toasted caramel in the aftertaste with a hint of charcoal.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and smooth with a light slickness. It sticks very nicely to the tongue. It has a low bitterness that ramps up as it rests on the tongue, like a lingering char from a well-seared steak.
Overall: The name of the beer is "West Coastin' DIPA" which would probably indicate that the brewer was going for a classic West Coast IPA flavor and aroma. This beer nails it on the East Coast IPA. It's hard to tell if the brewer was making a joke or if they intended this to be a West Coast IPA but the slightly sweet caramel flavors mixed with the somewhat toasted caramel and the candied orange peel feel more like an East Coast IPA than anything. I would not recommend it if you are looking for a West Coast IPA but it definitely meets and exceeds the level of a noteworthy East Coast IPA. It has a juiciness that floats right above the toasty malt flavor of a well-made East Coast IPA. I would buy it again, knowing the beer for what it is. I wouldn't recommend it as a West Coast IPA but I would highly recommend it as an East Coast IPA, as odd as that might sound. If you enjoy classic Dogfish Head 90min I would recommend giving this one a shot.

Can from the Packie.
Lightly hazy deep gold color with a decent fluffy off white head that persists. Big bready caramel maltiness with a bit of spicy alcohol and some olde school citrus and pine to counter.
