Had on a one time only cask at NERAX at Novare Res. Their Star Island Single "dry-hopped" with rose tips and wild flowers. Wild!
Pours a clear pale straw colored beer, a slight bubbly head from the air mixing with the cask beer on the pour, but not much otherwise.
Nose is just pure floral, flowers, light floral hops, chamomile and jasmine like tea aromas, hint of rose like flowers, just a bit of a malty base and spices.
Taste starts with spices and flowers again, jasmine tea, chamomile as well, almost like chewing on dandelion and flowers, really light but spicy like and interesting. Then a slight malty taste with hint of light malts and Belgian yeast spices. A bit of dried honey and juicy malt, light fruits even. It finishes dry with light pale floral hops.
Mouth is lighter bodied, little carbonation but typical for cask.
Overall really interesting, a nice floral flower tasting and smelling beer. Very unique and something everyone should try at least once. well done but not necessarily the best beer around.
