An interesting variation I hadn't thought of before and I'm glad to taste. Bavik Pils is one of the very few Belgian Pilsners I can find. Pale amber color in the pint shaker with a thin mustache of foam. Modest but pleasant carbonation.
Intriguing zingy flavor that conveys some of the Belgian yeastiness along with a clean, clear flavor. Not as hoppy or bitter as the typical Pilsner. One of the better 4.0% brews-- a nice balance of the sharp aromatics with some malt flavors.
Brewer says this is made with Belgian malts and the hops are Horizon, and Vanguard. On tap at the Red Rock restaurant in downtown Salt Lake.
