As a favorite to many of our visitors, Red Rock’s American Style Wheat Ale is our version of the classic. Red Rock’s Hefe- (meaning “yeast”) and -weizen (meaning “wheat”) is light in body and brewed with German Noble Tettnang Hops to give it a low hop bitterness. Hefeweizen is an unfiltered beer, which gives it the cloudy character most commonly associated with this brew. Boost your Hefeweizen with a lemon wedge for a twist.

On tap at the brewery. Cloudy gold, faint smell of citrus and malt. Tastes of a Hefeweizen watered down but thankfully the feel is richer than that. Good after a long day at work.

Pours cloudy straw color with white head, and garnished with lemon wedge at the brewpub itself. Nose is faint, with light citrus and a rather clean, but not unpleasant soapy aroma. Palate is thin, flavor is extremely light with wheat cracker, and little of the traditional banana-clove. Very watery and almost flavorless. Failure.

Pours a cloudy pale yellow color, nice carbonation, nice little white head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty with some yeast notes. Nice touch of corinander/spices, very slight bannanas. The taste is malty, slightly sweet, slightly bitter, with some coriander/bannans. Light-Medium body. Drinkable, This would be a good one on a hot summer day.

Yawn...another damn American wheat called a hefeweizen. The beer pours a cloudy yellow color, but not hazy enough for my liking. There is also a small creamy head present. The nose is boring, wheat, single dimensional. Boring boring boring. The flavor has hints of lemon in it, but that's it besides the wheat. The feel is moderate to light. Nothing special at all. The beer is just okay, but still nothing special at all.
