16.9 oz. Bottle
Bottled On: 08/26/24

Poured into a chalice a very nice clean/clear golden orange color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice foamy one-finger white head, which quickly leaves, very nice huge oil slick and sticky lacing behind. The nose is very nice malty, yeasty, very nice touch of clove, banana, nutmeg, licorice, with some grassyness. The taste is very nice, malty/yeasty, with some clove, banana, nutmeg, licorice, grassyness, pretty nice sweet note. Full Body, ABV is hidden very nicely. This is a very tasty brew. True to style.

16.9oz bottled 6/7/24, purchased at the brewery and opened 7/15/24.
1/2 inch white head with limited retention. Deep golden body looks like a dessert wine in the glass - clear. No lace (wine glass).
Yeasty perfume and peach / pear nectar. Some banana, spice, and honey.
Yeast spice and stone fruit. Missing some hopeful complexity.
Full body with a syrupy mouthfeel and low plus carbonation. Some heat midway and finishes a touch sweet.
Good.

From a bottle produced 12/28/23. Pours a golden color with white foamy head. Fruity aroma with some cloves. Fairly light body with good carbonation. Fruity flavor with a light earthy note and cloves on the finish. Easy drinking for the ABV and hits all the classic Belgian notes. Great beer.

Marvella Belgian Style Tripel by Red Rock Brewery immediately impresses with its eye-catching golden hue and artful label design. Despite its potent 11% ABV, the beer is deceptively smooth, making for a robust yet easy-drinking experience.

While the brew is complex and balanced, it does feature clove notes that may not be for everyone, including myself. However, unlike some Belgian styles where the clove can overpower, it's subtle enough to allow the beer's other qualities to shine in Marvella. This well-crafted, potent brew offers a rewarding experience even for those wary of specific flavor notes.

Thanks to @NorsemanOne for sending this to me.
Poured such a beautiful golden orange that I took two pictures of it. The off white head was short, short lived and left no lacing. The only quibble on the appearance.
The aroma is sadly lost on my Covid affected nose.
The taste is full of the expected light cloves and a little banana bubble gum, and these floral flavors that just flit around the edges. Quite nice.
The feel seems to be more viscous the deeper you get, I think that’s because the carbonation starts out active and just goes away.
At 11% you probably want to sip this anyway.
Good beer, much enjoyed.

Pint bottle obtained at the brewery in Salt Lake City. Really really fresh! Poured, lightly chilled, into a chalice. Rich foam receded pretty quick.
Smell is kinda faint, but banana bubblegum and ‘familiar’ is in there.
Taste is almost classic Belgian - they got the yeast right for sure. A good heat is present, maybe a bit much, as it rises above the flavor profile. Lingering sweetness.
Feel is smooth and warm, a little thin.
Overall, a good American example of a world renowned style.

Poured clear and light gold with a thin head. Nose leaned more banana than bubblegum, but neither was overpowering. Flavors are clove/banana with a lightly sweet finish and a little bit of heat lingers.

LOOK >>> Hazy yellow gold - 1-2 finger head - not as full and frothy as many Tripels - poor head retention - some lacing after - not much carbonation
SMELL >>> Belgian yeast and spice - herbal notes - not much aroma - some hints of caramel and biscuit
TASTE >>> Huge blast of Booze at 11% - some bitterness before a rush of sweet caramel and malt - Tongs of yeast and spices (clove / ginger) slight banana + mango - sometimes peppery and earthy
FEEL >>> Thinner than expected but Medium bodied - mostly goes flat - no bubbles after a few minutes
OVERALL >>> Very flavorful - too boozy for a Tripel - not as balanced - good beer though

a sturdy and flavorful, maybe better as a belgian strong pale than a traditional triple, i get neither the grain complexity nor the heft of the style, but i like the beer quite a lot, and i think its freakishly easy drinking for what it is, not much of the alcohol making itself known, even as it warms up, its an easy sipper. golden and heady in the glass, bright looking, decent foam retention, lots of bubbles, looks very light for its listed strength too. lots to like in the flavor, a high ester thing from the yeast thats not overly complex, green pear, white grape, fresh flowers, a little bit of rock candy sweetness backing it up, but somewhat dry for the style in the finish. the fruity yeast is nice with the simple earthy grain base, and this seems really well refined overall, with rushing carbonation and the right amount of belgian flare. it has been awhile since i have had a beer from these guys, but this one seems like one of the better i have had from them over the years. scary light for the strength, this one crept right up on me!
