one of, if not the very best beer i have ever had from these guys! its a gorgeous clear and heady belgian amber saison type thats both highly refined and has a ton of character, i was really impressed with this, and wish more breweries would play around with these styles, they are nowhere to be found hardly in the american brewing scene. this has a cool belgian yeast element to it, notes of white pepper, white wine, and earthy spice, coriander, and pear, delicate not overly estery, and well balanced by the toasted or kilned malts in this, a touch of toffee there, but dry in the end, more harvesty and earthy than sweet for sure, and lighter somehow than a more wheat forward saison might taste and feel with this same yeast. nuanced of aged hops, cooked apple, almond, and golden raisin, the yeast pushing past the grain as the flavor leader, but never running away with the thing. the texture is also fantastic, huge carbonation and a light airy feel, delicate for what it is, and so clean after each sip. a great example of the style, perhaps less rustic than the best of the best, but this is a major success from these guys and a beer i will definitely be looking forward to drinking again. really great!
