I have tried several of their beers; however, I have only reviewed one, so this makes two. I opted for an IPA glass and served the beer at a temperature of 44 degrees. The pour created a frothy, airy, foamy, three-fingered white head with average retention. The somewhat slow dissipation left bits of lacing on the glass. The beer's color is pale straw with light golden hues, transparent, and has an SRM of 4.
Upon nosing the glass, a fascinating array of aromas unfolds. Notes of wine musk, gooseberries, melons, herbs, grass, mangos, lightly toasted malts, subtle malty sweetness, a touch of tangerines, biscuits, earthiness, and a faint hint of resin create a complex and intriguing bouquet.
Sipping the beer, I taste notes of gooseberries, herbal and floral bouquets, mango, papaya, wine musk, melon, grass, lightly toasted malts, malty sweetness, biscuits, minerals, earthiness, tangerines, and a light pine resin.
The mouthfeel of the beer is astringent with a crisp, dry finish. The body is medium-light and has medium carbonation.
Final Thought: Binoculars is a surprising delight. Its refreshing hop profile, combined with the malt bill, makes it a perfect choice for unwinding after a long day. As the summer storms roll in and cool off Idaho, there's nothing more rejuvenating than sipping on this tasty IPA on a cool summer night.
