Lovely black color with a big foamy nitro cap in the pint nonic. The usual sudsy nitro mouthfeel. Coffee and blackened grain in the nose.
Flavor is coffee grounds from the first sip. Moderately bitter. Thin body but more malty than the drier Guinness sort of lower-alcohol stout. Robust flavor with loads of charred malt. Some dark caramel as well.
Slightly sweet without the common sourish dry charcoal taste. Plenty of burnt malt but a light bitterness. Interesting brew with lots of flavors for the light body. On tap at the brewpub in Trolley Square.
