Pours a deep amber red to brown. Nose is of toasted malts. Taste of toasted malt and some woodyness. Nice little hop kick to it too. Medium body semi wet finish. Decent brew, a good drink and not think kinda beer.

Had this at the Trolley Square location. Received in a perfect pint look-alike.

4.5 A: Moderately hazed deep amber color. Two fingers of white, frothy head. Excellent retention and lots of lacing is left behind.

3.5 S: Toasty and nutty with a woody bready yeastiness. Light caramel.

3.5 T: About the same as nose. Toasty and nutty foremost, then woody, bready, and caramel.

3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Decently creamy. A bit warm even for cask. Smooth enough.

3.5 D: Not a bad amber and works well on cask.

First time to Utah and Beer Advocate helped to find a micro in downtown SLC. Desert Edge has the Augustus Amber Ale on tap as a seasonal. The appearance is a nice copper/amber blear with white head that is lacing well. The scent has hop and malt, what type of hop...I'm not sure, but it is more of a spice than pine or citrus. The taste starts with good hop character then a maltiness takes over leaving the pallet decent. This is a good beer and is great for summertime fun.
