Near black in the tall nonic with a chestnut edge plus a foamy beige head. Really fruity and lots of actual raspberry flavor. Distinctly tart.
Deep roasted malt flavors with plenty of the charred taste. Quite a pleasing robust mouthfeel even with the lower gravity. Long fruity nose with that berry aroma. Pleasant hoppy bite. Dry yet rich, and just the right carbonation. Big flavor but ideal for quaffing. Certainly one of the better fruit beers I've had, but the stout/raspberry combination seems to usually work well.
A winner in the big flavor sweepstakes for these 4.0 ABV Utah brews. On tap at the Desert Edge brewpub, still in Trolley Square after all these years.
