On tap at Brighton Mountain! A good ole IPA that tastes more like a Pale bc it’s a bit watered down (due to the 5% thing?). Very refreshing and crushable after a day on the hill.

cool they do an ipa for the mountain, my guess is this has changed some since what is shown here, more modern than it may have been, on tap currently at the brewery, was cool to finally check this place out and drinks some new to me beers from these guys. this is pretty pale, minimally bitter, and sort of stone fruity in terms of the hops, peach and honey and ripe melon. there is some caramel type malt here, not red or heavy or toasty, but with some definite grain sweetness through most of it, makes it drink a little bigger than it needs to for just 5% abv, but i like the way the grain sugar seems to enhance the hops, which is not always the case in this sort of thing, really an almost candied citrus background behind the more summery fruitiness, great hop complexion overall. fine carbonation, a little creaminess to the feel, and overall fresh and distinctive, well executed, not quite refreshing for after a day on the slopes, but flavorful and good. i feel like their hoppy beer has taken steps forward here in recent years...

2014 release. 750 ml bottle.
Appearance: pale copper color. Very thick foamy head. A good couple minutes till it began to dissipate.
Smell: fragrant notes of citrus with this touch of sweetness. Very pleasant and inviting yet not so explosive like the majority of IPAs.
Taste: tasting like a pale ale. Subtle hops - citrus, maybe a little pine. Bitterness is pleasant, it's not aggressive and it continues to hang around for a little bit.
Mouthfeel: light-bodied with high carbonation.
Overall: it was less than 5 dollars for a 750 ml bottle. While that doesn't make it cheaper than a 10 dollar six pack, its still decent for a single 750 ml of something new.

Hazy dark amber with a voluminous foam in the point glass. Takes a while to get two glasses halfway filled. Average spritziness on the tongue, but pillows of foam last to the bottom of the glass.
Lovely puff of aromatic hops. Flowery and piney. Flavor is hoppy with a hint of grapefruit, but mostly a nice citrus peel bitterness that is fairly moderated. This is actually one of the best examples of how to get flavor and pleasure out of four percent ABV. Some malt and a long citrus aftertaste.
From the 750 ml corked and caged bottle purchased at Emigration Market in Salt Lake. It's a rather grand package for an unpretentious gift, but it's totally drinkable. And for the price of $4.49 it makes a nice impression. Label says "best before 03/13/15."

Pours a very very nice cloudy golden yellow color, with some very nice carbonation, very very nice thick creamy two-finger plus white head, which leaves huge islands in the glass, tons of sticky lacing. The nose is hoppy with a nice touch of malts, very slight citrus. The taste is hoppy, with some maltyness. Medium body, with a nice bitter/dry finish. Overall a pretty tasty brew, for an IPA at this ABV is pretty tasty, way better than the one Unita did years ago at the same ABV. Funny thing is I cannot find the ABV on this bottle. Definitely recommended.
