750ml bottled on 07/28/16
Pours cloudy amber dark orange with a receding frothy white foam head. Tart, fresh sour apricot stone fruits lead the way with some underlying caramelized malt, citrus, floral earthy pine and mild sour yeast notes. Feels medium bodied, creamy with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a nice kettle-soured apricot IPA.

Reviewed from (very) long-standing notes. Poured from the 750 mL bottle into an El Catador Barrel-Aged glass. Consumed 10/10/16.
A: Hazy gold with a finger's worth of fluffy white head with average retention. Fairly low amount of visible carbonation after the initial blush fades.
S: Lactic tart, light funk. I’ll buy into some stone fruit, though I'm not sure I would have called it more than a vague fruitiness. Some tropical fruit, grapefruit, and tangelo hops as well. Light biscuit malts.
T: Lactic tart, lightly funky again. Big tropical, stone, and citrus fruits – like a fruit juice cocktail in a good way. Light biscuit malt body. Some yeastiness and a frothy fruit smoothie. Fruity hops (and fruity additions, I guess) with light bitterness in the hang.
M: A light but frothy body - not at all watery. Low alcohol presence. Good carbonation sensation.
O: Quite enjoyable, and I think this could be "sessionable" if they had chosen a different type of packaging for the beer. I wish this was in a six pack, especially in cans – rather than a corked & caged 750 mL bottle. There’s just no reason for that presentation. This is a tasty, but not at all an "extreme" sour or hoppy or funky beer. But a nicely balanced, drinkable beer that I'd drink again.

LOOK > deep orange and very hazy - not quite a 1 finger head after pour from a 750ml bottle - dissipated very quickly and then slight lacing continued on
SMELL > Mango and pineapple - tart fruitiness - some malt
TASTE > Huge blast of hops, tart fruit (like mango, pineapple, peach, apricot), and caramel - there seems to be a battle between sweet malt flavors and sour fruit here going back and forth - there's a nice intense sourness, but it isn't overly sour and doesn't feel like straight acid on your tongue - sourness fades out and you are left with some earthy/woody notes and a slight smokiness
FEEL > low-end of a medium body - a bit thinner, but soured brews usually are
OVERALL > This is a very good tasting beer - not super hoppy or bitter like a typical IPA - there are a lot of complex fruit flavors - impressed with this one - grab one if you can (showing that it is now retired!)

22oz bottle. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of tart apricot, lemon and funkiness. Very sour tasting with apricot and funky yeastiness.

Copper colored with excellent clarity. There’s a fingernail of bright white around the rim and covering most of the top. Light lacing. The nose is packed with apricots. I taste a wallop of apricots, but no hops. My bottle is over a year old, though. I’m also tasting some light brettanomyces. The mouth is moderately carbonated and dry.

Pours a cloudy amber color. One inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of apricot, sweet malt, slight pale malt, slight bacterial funk, alcohol, spicy hops, and citrus hops. Fits the style of an American Wild Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong apricot, sweet malt, slight pale malt, slight bacterial funk, alcohol, spicy hops, and citrus hops. Overall, good appearance, aroma, body, and complexity.

From a 22oz bottled on 8/21/17. Pours a cloudy orange color. Smells of apricot and lime with a little sourness. Relatively light in body, not much carbonation. Tastes like it smells, a mix of apricot and lime with a sour finish. Interesting. I think it would be better to label this as a wild ale instead of an IPA since there's virtually no hop presence.

750ml
Caged/Corked
Bottled On: 08/02/16
Poured into a tulip a very nice clean/clear dark golden orange color, very nice carbonation, with a pretty nice quick/fizzy/creamy white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, with some nice apricot, slight citrus. The taste is really nice, malty, kinda yeasty, really nice touch of apricot, some citrus. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a very nice brew.
