I found this in the fridge at my local liquor store. The date on it said 2016! I was alittle skeptical about buying this one. I'm glad I did. It's a sour obviously, and the pumpkin flavor and spices have fallen off a bit as to be expected. However, it still has a creamy pumpkin taste and mouth feel. It's the best sour beer I've had so far and I have drinken Russian River and Allagash sours. Maybe because it was dated 2016 and drank right now in 2020 or the pumpkin. But something happened in that bottle for 4-5 years to make it wonderful. If you see this one with dust on it back in the local liquor store fridge grab one. These are retired brews.

Poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi-dark ruddy brown color with a two finger eggshell white foamy head slowly dissipating to leave some moderate foamy lace.
The aroma had some pumpkin flesh, some allspice/pumpkin pie spice melding with a tart to sour Bretty character. Some light bourbon to caramel tones dose the backbone.
The flavor starts semi-sweet with the pumpkin flesh with a light tart grassy character and bourbon. The middle brings just a touch of allspice and crushed clove then the aftertaste has some bourbon, Brett and light pumpkin.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality. Brett isn't distracting - it's at a great level. Carbonation felt nice. ABV felt as projected. Nice semi-sticky with the allspice bourbon character balancing nicely to inspire a wonderful finish.
Overall, nicely done pumpkin sour packing the normal pumpkin sweet and spicy character then a sly Bretty sour-ness to claim the balance. I'd come this every season as long as Uinta keeps sending to Vermont!

Copper to amber hued with excellent clarity. There's a fingernail of beige around the majority of the rim and about a third of the top. The aroma offers cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and an undertone of tart Brettanomyces. I'm tasting plenty of cinnamon, allspice, pumpkin pie spice, and some dulled Brettanomyces. The mouth is very dry and moderately carbonated.

750ml
Caged/Corked

Poured into a chalice a very nice orangy color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, with some pumpkin, nutmeg, spice, slight funkyness. The taste is pretty nice malty, yeasty, nice touch of pumpkin, nutmeg, and some spices, funky. Medium body. Overall, a very nice brew.

Splitting the difference between two popular fall flavors: pumpkin spice and apple cider, the brewers of Uinta roll out a fall seasonal ale that's pumpkin pie up front but mulled cider to close.

Pale gold and with a slight haze, the beer strikes the senses with the familiarity of cinnamon, clove and ginger. A crusty backbone of nuttiness and granola tease the nose and calm the tastebuds while a whimsy of apple align with lemon and must for a complex nose and a curious caramelized sweetness to start.

The middle palate shows a quick transition from the pie-like praline sweetness and into a cidery structure. Drying, crisp and refreshing flavors of green apple, lemon, lime, gooseberry and kiwi cut the steely caramel sweetness as the ale trends peppery with cinnamon, peppercorn and bright ginger spice. Light bitterness seems more of spices rather than hops but bounce off of the mossy musk and earthen wood flavors that follow.

Medium-bodied to start, the ale shows remarkable dryness, spiciness and warmth toward the finish. Remaining peppery and with that mysterious sour twang, the cider-like taste and its suggestion of rice wine is as compelling as its is complicated.

Poured a copper body with minimal head/no lace and an aroma that is both pumpkin spice and barnyard funk. Medium bodied beer that is funky and sour with an easy going mouthfeel and then pumpkin sweetness and spice hits me on the backend. Not the most balanced but it has both notes of funk and pumpkin so it works for me.

750ml cork & cage bottle poured into a tulip glass
Bottled 9/19/16

A- pours a clear amber color with a one-finger creamy off-white head that has good retention, before settling into a ring around the edge of the glass

S- even mix of cinnamon, nutmeg & allspice aromas up front. Subtle funky and earthy brett, with notes of dried hay. Some malty sweetness and hints of brown sugar

T- light brett tartness gives some yeasty funk with a bit of barnyard. Pumpkin spicing immediately follows, with highlights of cinnamon and allspice. The finish is slightly malty, with notes of brown sugar and spicy yeast

M- medium-light body with moderate fizzy carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a crisp semi-dry finish

O- the brett was just enough to provide a nice compliment to the pumpkin spicing, this is actually a really refreshing beer and super drinkable
