I got this for Paul, who seems to like some of these porters. Pretty good for the genre. Rich dark color with a thin and ephemeral head. Vanilla seems to balance with the malt to a manageable sweetness. Ok dessert beer.

another brewery with a vanilla porter in the game, okay. this one is really vanilla heavy, light on the porter side visually and in terms of roast, almost deeper brown ale to me, lacking balancing deep roasted barley bitterness, but maybe thats a product of the over the top vanilla rather than something actually missing here. the thing that makes this for me, and even sets it apart from its peers, is that the vanilla is insanely high end and real to me, an extract rather than a scraped bean, but like, the best of the best it seems, still an orchid, sweet and earthy and rich, decadent even, and while it may well be overdone, there is nothing at all inauthentic about it, so its ahead of the curve by leaps and bounds. light coffee and milk chocolate in the grain, a relatively clean ferment, and overall quite good, vanilla dominated and desserty, but well made. i wish the base beer brought a little more to the table, but for those who like them light bodied and real flavored, this will be an instant classic. the first new one i have had from these guys in too long, and it was cool to try it right at the source! it could pass as a brown ale, and the vanilla is insane, but the quality is high and this is a winner, sweet and intense as it is.

12oz bottle from Boise Co-op. Dark Brown pour, patchy head. Aroma is a nice helping of chocolate and vanilla. Taste leans a bit on the chocolate, sweet, roasty, light vanilla accents deep in late. Small bitter bite

Meh. Very flat tasting. Lots of ambiguously dark and metallic toasty flavor, very little vanilla coming through at all at any drinking temperature. I'd pass and probably order something else. Great art on the label and 6 pack, though!

Poured from 12oz bottle into glass. 'Best Before' date on label marked '04/09/17L).
Very dark, mahogany body. Tan, thin head, minimal lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malt, vanilla, and sweet chocolate.
Chalky taste of roasted malt, chocolate, and faint vanilla. Rather muddled taste profile. Some bitterness at the end.
Medium mouth feel, dry.
Mediocre porter.

First had Season Pass on draft at Molly Green's, Brighton Resort, Utah. After a rather slow start, a lot of flavor develops in this beautiful 4.00 ABV Vanilla Porter.

I agree with Czequershuus's eloquent review. Any organic complexities this beer may have had during infancy somehow got converted to charcoal during incubation. I didn't notice the vanilla at all. Uinta hits it out of the park with some of their brews (e.g., Detour), but this one's a foul ball, at least IMHO.

Would've liked more flavor. Let it sit for a while and you'll start to get the vanilla notes. It's a good winter quaff. It pours a black color with some ruby red highlights when held to the light; it looks like and feels more like a schwarzbier than a porter. The taste starts out muted, but the vanilla starts to come out in the aftertaste; some roasty and toasty malts in the frontend; slight chocolate notes throughout, but not much. A lot of carbonation. Decent amount of head that dissipated quickly. Give it a try if you're in the high mountains of Utah on a ski run.

This beer pours a clear brown color with a large head. The aroma features brown sugar, some wood smoke, cumin, and burnt vanilla. The flavor features vague burnt notes, burnt sugar, molasses, and vanilla at the very end. The mouthfeel is very thin for the style, with light carbonation. Overall this was not an enjoyable beer. The vanilla was very hidden, the body was much too thin, and the was this burnt sugar note reminiscent of screwing up candy.
