A: Poured a light pale orange with a brillant clarity and a fizzy dirty bone colored head that faild to retain, impress or leave any signs of a lacing. Visible carbonation was light with several micro-bubbly streams rising at a fairly moderate rate. Overall an average display.

S: The nose was fresh oranges, moderately strong in strength with a perfumy nature. Beyond that the wheat was hard to pick up and detect.

T: The initial flavor begins with sweet and tart tangerines coupled with a soft lemony citrus hopping. Again the wheaty nature of the drink is hard to pick up or appreciate. A light twang of wet citrus closes things out. There wasn't a lot of complexity here, some honey-bread, and white grapes but really doesn't do much to make this more exciting. Overall this was an average affair, lacking a crisp wheat nature or presence.

M: had a nice tight bubbly feel providing some action while the consistency was slick with a light creaminess. The finish finds a light display of wet orange peels.

D: fairly easy, though lacking incentive. You could probably drink a couple of these on a hot summer day without much fanfare or thought. A six pack is best split with friend with light conversations and low expectations.

Appearance: Pours a clear pale golden color with a modest cap that fritters away without leaving much behind

Smell: Vague hint of citrus and coriander

Taste: Bready, up front, with a growing sweet orange peel flavor; after the swallow, the coriander comes through in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Light body with moderately high carbonation

Drinkability: Easy to drink but there just isn't much going on, flavorwise

Thanks, Douglas88, for the opportunity

Gotta love BOTMC brews arrive at your door and your beer stockpile is always on hand. This brew in the bottle has a classic wheat beer smell with hints of citrus mostly orange. (Nothing I would have guessed by the label) It pours to a clear lager-like consistency with a thin head that is quickly gone. Taste is a classic wheat with very spicy and citrusy hop tone. The carbonation seems high but it fits the style of this brew. This is a great brew for hot weather. Light enough to drink in quantity in the heat, but the flavor is very good. Not an HG for the true beer snob but a good beer.

12oz bottle given to me by Douglas88.. Thanks for the brew and much more thanks for making the trip to Boise for one of our tastings... Poured into my small weizen glass.

1" head dies back quick leaving no real cap and a bit of lace the brew looks like apple juice after a bit... is it carbonated?

Nose is pretty bad.. makes me think of an apathetic macro blonde with a scant 1/8 teaspoon of bad marmalade mixed in.. pale malts with only enough "orange" to let itself be known.. smells metallic.

Flavor is only mildly better... mildly... mildly no kidding.. again, a bad American blond with some very background citrus.. the body is light and the carbonation is too high.... pretty bad... not a drain pour... but close.. just nothing going on and a flaccid attempt at anything that should be called an American Wheat.. I can't stand most American Wheats, but this is worse by a bunch than anything I have in the cooler at the COOP.

Thanks Doug... but this is no good.. seriously.

Poured this brew into a pint glass.

The brew has no head, no lace. Pours a light orange.

The brew smells of slight orange, muted smells. Nothing else to speak of as nothing jumps out.

The brew tastes like a flat brew with a hint of orange - some faint wheat or malts maybe. Nothing pops out. Very muted flavors - very watered down taste. Oddly it is better out of the bottle.

This beer is very plain jane. No real taste, no body to it. No redeeming quality. It is like I added a hint of orange to a coors lite. I suffered through a case of this brew - (the case was $15). It lacks flavor. It is a bit better then a macro brew lite beer. Will not offend anyone as it washes down some food at a BBQ or something.

Looking at the label I thought this was a peach or apricot pale ale. A closer inspection revealed that it's actually more of a Belgian-style witbier. The labels states that it's a "wheat beer brewed with coriander and orange peel" - and it is, but without the use of Belgian yeast... a hybrid !?

Coriander is clear in the nose, but it's not overdone. Orange is also clear in the flavor. But to my palate, knowing what a Belgian wit tastes like, I'm left looking for more. But what if I'd never tasted one? What is this beer really like on its own?

There's a pleasant golden maltiness, just base malt and wheat. The wheat is noticeable, but it's not prominent, so I'd guess it's at 40% of the grain bill or less. It's not sweet,, but it's not dull either.

The orange shines, and there are notes of green apple and white grape as well - it's just slightly tart.

No hops come through, but the coriander backs it nicely. and gives a really enjoyable spicy background to the finish. And the spice helps to balance the beer in general (along with the light tartness), as there's not really much bitterness to it.

Overall, it's a fairly light and very easy to consume beer that's got a good bit of extra character to it. Beer aficionados will probably not be impressed, but bring a case of this to a summer BBQ and watch it disappear!

Came in a shipment of Micro Beer of the Month Club shipment. I have to say, the futuristic label and simple IKEA-type fruit design are appealing, making you think the beer is going to be unique and appealing as well, as the beer is referred to as "Orange Tingle Wheat Beer" on the label. Here is the verdict:

A golden color with fluffy white head that dies down quickly leaving a bit of spotty. Lightly carbonated.

Nose of apple juice or of a cream ale with some orange and coriander and a touch of wheat. It has a big brewery aroma (maybe some corn, possibly some rice). It gets better and the aromas come out as it warms.

A light beer taste, absent of the wheat that it claims to have in it. Resembles a light lager or ale. Nothing that stands out. A tart hard cider in the taste. The orange definitely comes through, but is not overpowering or obnoxious. Pretty well balanced, however, it is lacking in flavor.

Slight tingle on the tongue that helps the taste and mouthfeel.

Not great, not bad, somewhere in between. I was not offended by this beer as I would be with something like a Michelobe or Bud that makes me go "yuck" after a sip. It has it's place. It might even be a good entry beer for a newbie who needs to slowly make their way into beer with taste.

Pours a very clear gold with barely any head formation and only the slightest of lace. The aroma after the pour was not good but after it set the aroma became a smell of Hops and Citrus. Taste is not balanced at all. The citrus flavor is over taking the hops flavor. At the end of the beer you have a slight tingle with an unwelcome taste.

Poured from a 12 oz. brown bottle into a pint glass.
A: Clear-orange colored beer, plenty of fast-rising carbonation bubbles. Rather thin layer of white head that settles quickly.
S: Orangey and faintly lemony. Hint of bitterness, bust mostly a bland yeast/citrus mix. Nothing off-putting, but nothing interesting either.
T: Fine, mostly orange flavors with a tiny bit of coriander. A watered-down wheat beer with a mild amount of flavoring.
M: Watery, kinda bubbly. Doesn't feel like beer, oddly.
D: Alright, this one was easy enough to imbibe, but it's kinda boring to drink. Weird.

Enjoyed on 03.12.09. Part of a BOTM sampler. Poured into a 14oz pint glass.

A: Unlike most wheat beers lately, this brew pours a CLEAR orangy, tan. It is a filtered wheat beer. Small head. No lacing.

S: Coriander on the nose. High herbalness. Oranges smell overripe.

T: The "tingle" is menthol at the end. Interesting if not distracting. Rinds are present.

M: Pretty clean finish, but nothing dramatic.

D: I suppose its a good summer BBQ brew.

Part of my Beer of the Month Club mix pack

A- 2 finger white head forms, with a reddish orange color and pretty clear for a wheat ale.
S- Not a lot of smell here, it mentions orange and coriander on the label, but it is very hard to detect any
T- Very weak orange flavor and that is a stretch almost tastes like a watered down Blue Moon and that is actually taking a shot at Blue Moon.
M- very weak, again pretty watered down
D- I guess in the summer time this would go down pretty easy thats about it, this beer is a can-miss

real smooth taste. the orange is definitely present especially at the end. coriander, the toasty malt and orange finish

medium bodied with a cottony to grainy feel. very sharp carbonation

this is a refrshing beer, never bad. but perhaps too much orange to keep me going through a 6er in a session

I got this as part of a BOTMC. It pours a clear yellow with a moderate white head, and a bit of lacing. On the nose is a hint of orange marmalade. The flavor is clean with a bit of orange, but weak. The beer has high carbonation and is a bit thin. I imagine this would be a thirt quencher in the summer. This is a beer non beer drinkers would like, but I would not recomend it.

Pours a shiny light copper with very little head. Looks like a good but nearly flat lager.

Aroma is citrusy & light with a kind of flint, crisp quality.

On tasting, my mouth is filled with a creamy orange flavor that turns into classic wheat: citrus, some spice. The flavor has almost no traction & disappears as soon as swallowed, in a perpetual cycle of sip, taste, fade, repeat. The mouthfeel is thin, which aids in this process, as it doesn't coat the mouth. I'm able to re-experience it each time I take a sip. Clean, refreshing.

Definitely goes down smooth, but I think I'd get sick of the orange soda aspect after a few. A great summer beer, this definitely has its place.

Edit: I actually got sick of the taste after about half a glass. Started strong, got old quick.

12oz bottle.

Poured a medium and clear golden color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of spices -coriander-, wheat, and some orange creme. Tastes of the same orange creme, ligther wheat, and lighter spiciness. Kinda boring and non-offensive. I could see drinking this ice cold on a hot and humid summer day.

Bottle courtesy of JJPM74: Poured a golden color wheat ale with a pure white light bubbly head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of light wheat malt with some notes of orange peel and coriander. Taste is also dominated by light wheat malt with some light coriander and orange peel notes also discernable. Body is just too thin and carbonation too low for the style. This won't be a memorable experience apart from the fact that this is my first Utah beer.
