its awesome that these guys made a beer for the mountain. not sure if its actually unique in any way or is just special packaging of the pils they already have in their lineup, but to me its slightly drier and hoppier, a but more robust, although it has been awhile since ive had the original. this has a nice fuller feel to hit, heartier after a day on the slopes, but still fairly crisp. the yeast is european but light to me, its the malt that flavors it along with the hops, good balance between the two, not overly prominent on the mineral profile of the water or anything, and it lacks that radiant purity the best of these seem to have, but it hits the mark as a satisfying yet drinkable beer mountainside. in the world of craft pils, this is definitely lost in the shuffle, but on the mountain its just what is needed, not too light for a freezing winter day, but also crisp enough for when spring conditions hit, it works in all contexts up there, and its really rad they did a beer just for there. out of this context im not sure it would do all that much for me, but i was stoked on it after the turn and burn competition this weekend!
