12oz bottle from Hops & Bottles. Medium amber, clear, persistent cap of creamy head, rings of lacing. Aroma is coffee, malty. Taste is sweet, malts more prominent, coffee fades a bit, graham, vanilla, cinnamon.

Unusual but good Maibock. Bought a 12 oz can at Chip's Beer and Wine in Kill Devil Hills NC. Pours an almost clear, beautiful amber color with a small fizzy light tan head that fades fast. Some lacing on the pint glass. Nothing subtle here in terms of aroma and taste. The Bourbon Barrel nose and flavor are very prominent. A perfumy, whiskey essence is central to the beer. The coffee and some maltiness are also present. While the Bourbon barrel dominates toe presence, it is not that over-done or off-putting. The beer is slightly sweet and very good tasting!!! Mouthfeel is incredibly rich for a 5% abv beer. There is a sense of strength, bold bourbon flavoring and some warming alcohol presence that makes you feel you are drinking a much stronger slow-sipper!!!! This is ordinarily a bit more subtle style with a blend of grassy hops and bready malt. I have no problem with this "take" because it tastes so good!!!!

12oz can poured into a nonic. Beautiful clear dark amber. Nice bready, doughy sweetness with a toasty character and ample vanilla sweetness. Fruity yeast as well, with some light white peppery character. Clean, crisp, and light, with a lingering sweetness. Well-done.
