16oz can
Purchased from Brewery for $4
Poured at fridge temp into a nonic glass and let warm
Pours black with a mildly tight mocha colored head
Coffee and whiskey barrel aroma
Fairly char filled, some leather and more barrel. Touch of vanilla
Boozy and filling full body
Overall a good ba version of a great base beer, though I think I should have aged it instead of drinking it straightaway

Pours an effervescent chestnut color with 3 fingers of billowy tan head. Average-ish head retention & lacing
S: Some boozey notes, a little brown bread, nose mutes as this beer warmed up
T: Brown sugar, boozeyness, some cola/molasses flavors & barrel dryness up front. Some sweet molasses notes, a touch of Whiskey & dryness once this beer warms up, plus Brown Sugar & oaky notes. Finishes dry with some woody hops, cola notes, figs & a little more Brown Sugar
MF: Fairly chewy, modest carbonation, warming
This just got better as it warmed up, a sipper for sure

16oz can pours out dark black, not thick or sticky but definitely opaque, with a large, fluffy light khaki head. Nice lots of malt sweetness, whisky barrel, minor chocolate, smooth and sweet with just passing impressions of a deep roast, this feels like it works really well as not a stout but rather a schwarzbier, its just different enough from a big stout to be unique, but it works well in the barrel and at this abv.

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Near black pour, skin of beige head. Mildly sweet aroma, balanced roasty malts and chocolate. Taste picks up on the whiskey barrel notes, dark, soft bitter chocolate, light sweetness, boozy accents near the finish. A little bit more chocolaty than a schwarzbier, but it really works.
