Aged in gin barrels from Beehive Distilling, our Jack Rabbit Saison is a dry, crisp ale with a touch of spice, boasting gentle herbal notes with a bright fruity nose.

Received in a trade with @NorsemanOne.

This pours an almost clear copper color with a fairly dense head. Strong oak aroma with a subtle juniper berry gin hint. There’s a battle upfront of the gin/oak flavor against the dry/ coriander saison which makes this beer very pleasant. Moderate mouthfeel with moderate carbonation.Overall, I’m quite pleasantly surprised by the result of this combination!

Look: Poured from a pint can into a snifter glass. Burnt orange hue with a medium white head that quickly dissipated.

Smell: The gin comes through nicely. Also floral notes but not much else.

Taste: Gin up front, followed by a hoppy bite and then fades into a malty finish.

Feel: This one is feels light because the gin and minimal carbonation really thin it out. I liked that for the style.

Overall: I like the idea but it almost feels like the gin actually subtracts some of the saison aspects out of the equation. Still enjoyable, but could have been better.

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Dark golden pour, swirly tight head with collar of foam. Gin comes first on the aroma, but blends pretty well with the saison yeast.Light caramel notes.Taste is toffee, sweet, prickly pear, yeasty and juniper. Gin barrel used for flavor not for any kick. Really nice flavors with a mild bitterness at the finish.
