I have just written a review slating Black Sheep's poor quality All Creatures Ale so it is at least pleasing to be able to balance that with my opinion of the one off? Ram Tackle. I like hops, I like IPA and Pale Ale and this is a very good example of variation on the theme of heavy hoped ale. Nice Amber look, smell of hops comes to the fore balanced by a good malty feel and taste. An excellent ale and I have a dozen laid down just in case it is only a special brew :-)

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Feb 2018. Acquired recently from Morrisons. A rugby-themed brew celebrating the sport; hopped with 8 varieties of hops.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A rich coppery-amber hue with good clarity and plentiful carbonation. Produces a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a persistent surface layer.
S: Aroma of caramel malt with hints of leafy hops, grass/hay, ale yeast and faint grain. Traditional.
T: Tastes of bitter leafy hops and caramel malt with notes of grass/hay, stewed leaves, ale yeast and husks. A pronounced bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with lively carbonation and decent body. A touch overcarbonated. Aftertaste of bitter hops, leafiness, ale yeast and husky malt.
O: Pretty conventional in character but quite nice. Not sure about the 8 hop varieties though. Looks OK, while the aroma and flavour blended caramel malt, ale yeast and leafy hops. Fairly bitter. Body is alright. Unexceptional yet well-brewed - worth sampling.

Bottle. Light amber. Dense frothy and lasting head.
Hoppy aroma. Definitely an English Bitter. Muted malt.
Hops and malt again. Bitter flavour. Some buttery notes.
Medium body but over carbonated.
