A 500ml bottle with a BB of Aug 2018. Purchased just the other day from Morrisons. The label describes it as a zesty pale ale hopped with Cascade.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A rich amber colour with good clarity and plentiful carbonation. Produces a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a moment or two before subsiding to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of understated leafy hops with hints of fruity ale yeast, mild hay, grainy malt and a touch of barley sugar. OK but pretty conventional.
T: Tastes of leafy hops with notes of subtle grass/hay, mild floral hints, a twinge of citrus, fruity ale yeast, grainy malt and barley sugar. Quite dry, followed by a restrained bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body for the strength. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of bitter leafy hops, ale yeast and pale malt.
O: Decent enough but doesn't really hold your attention. Looks OK, while the aroma and flavour are a mix of leafy hops, Black Sheep ale yeast and grainy malt. Body is alright. The vibrant hop character mentioned on the label is rather oversold. Drinkable but won't blow your socks off. No need to hunt it down.
