A 500ml bottle with a BB of June 2019. Purchased recently from Morrisons. The label describes it as a triple hop pale ale brewed with Citra, Galena and Summit.
A: Poured into a straight pint glass. A bright golden-amber colour with excellent clarity and moderate carbonation. Produces a large head of frothy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of light, fruity hops with hints of grass/hay, subtle citrus, white grape, mild white fruits, faint herbs, ale yeast, pale malt and a twinge of stewed leaves. Also a diacetyl twang in the background. Pretty good.
T: Tastes of crisp, fruity hops with notes of grass/hay, mild herbs, light citrus, white fruits, berries, spice, faint stewed leaves, ale yeast and pale malt. Very dry, followed by a moderate herbal bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body for the strength. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of grassy, fruity hops, mild herbal bitterness, ale yeast and subtle pale malt.
O: Not too bad, a pleasant pale ale with some good hop character. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour showcase fruity herbal hops, ale yeast and light malt. Body is OK. Shame about the diacetyl, and it lacks depth. Drinkable nonetheless and would be great on a hot day. Worth sampling.
