L- On the border between ultra-dark amber and pale chestnut. Clear. Pours with fine-bubble 1Cm creamy off-white head that's holding well. (p.s. 20 minutes later and finishing off this beer, there is lacing all down the glass and a thin head still with 80% coverage remaining).
S- Light malty hops.
T- Malts, light hoppiness, then whoomph, deeper richer malts and clear hopping fast comes in - all over the space of say 3-4 seconds on my first sip. Subsequently deeper richer malts balanced by somewhat zingy bitter hops come in parallel.
F- Now 2Cm down the pint glass the flavour and feel are balanced on my palate, and I see what a fine beer this is. (Perhaps the above 'journey' reflects me tasting a new beer on a fresh palate, IDK). This is easily sessionable.
O- I could refer to this as a classic bitter. Lovely balanced beer, zero OTT, and zero out of place.
BB: 29/Apr/2020. 500ml bottle, bought from a 'mega' Sainsbury supermarket in London for a reasonable £1.80.
