I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a nine sample flight. It poured a clear dark amber with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had subtle grain and citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet malt base and subtle citrus presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Pours a black color with a foamy tan head that lasts quite a while. Aromas of chip malts and citrus hops. Taste of citrus, orange and grapefruit. Tastes of grapefruit and orange. Creamy mouth feel.

This beer pours a very dark, caramely brown- could be mistaken for an opaque black stout in a dimly lit room. A tiny cappuccino-white head dissipates to a tiny ring around the glass. Light lacing.
A nice, pronounced earthy hoppiness in the bouquet, with light amounts of sweet dark malt breadiness playing against the grass, pine, and mild citrus.
The taste is wonderfully balanced- not a biting hoppiness, not too sweet, very nice roast/ toast in the finish, and a graeat carbonation to carry it all. Not too chewy, but certainly not a session beer. The leave is dry, though- I am very impressed with the all-around quality of this brew- clean and well-crafted.
Awesome first experience with this brewery I'd never heard of. Thanks, Steve, for hooking up the bottle!
