Pours a cloudy, dark brown color. 1/6 inch had of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of sweet malt, dark citrus, and yeast. Fits the style of an American Porter. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of yeast, sweet malt, slight roasted malt, hops, and a hint of dark citrus. Overall, a little light in body, but good feel and blend.

Had several samples of this brew at the STL microfest - nice of Little Yeoman to make the trip.
Decent enough porter, no standout characteristics, just a smooth sipping porter. Pours black, generates an average tan head. Decent aroma of malt and burnt toast - although subtle is the key word. Body is a bit thin for the style.
I'd like to try it again or their other offerings - this one seemed a bit lackluster.

Pours almost black with a nice brown find beaded low head that lingers as carbonation sustains a thin cap and ring. Medium body that improves with warming. Hops provide just the right amount of bitterness for the dark roasted malts with flaked barley adding to the round dextrinous mouthfeel.
I have had the bottled version cellared for a year and was very pleased with how it aged. One of brewmaster, Chad Fredrick's classics. Served from the keg on opening day July 1st, 2006
