Cool atmosphere, and pretty good selection of quality Belgian beers (some of which are brewed in-house). My only complaint is the poor service, and here my specific complaint is that the bartender kept severely under-pouring my beers. Recommended with some reservations.

Vibe: The brewpub is rather nice, having views of the canal from the front of the building and outdoor seating and views of the brew kettles in the rear. Old beer advertisements decorated the walls.

Quality: Beers were served in a variety of glassware at the proper temperatures. I was quite happy to receive the Warterloo Double 8 Dark in its earthenware goblet and a matching coaster.

Service: The waitstaff was friendly, spoke English, and provided rather prompt service.

Selection: About a dozen beers were available on-tap, including four from the brewery and three guest taps. It also had over 20 bottled beers. I was most impressed with the beer sampler, which included four 20 cL beers and four slices of cheese for a mere €11.

Food: The food was pretty good. I tried the bitterballen and a uitsmijter with cheese and bacon, the latter of which was rather large.

This brewpub is located on Kloveniersburgwal 6-8 right next to Coffeeshop Green Place. This canal runs from north to south in the Old Center and is one of the streets that leads directly to Nieuwe Markt square. If you are coming from Dam Square, take Damstraat east bound. Go past Oudezijds Voorburgwaal canal, Oudezijds Achterburgwaal canal, and you will then come to Kloveniersburgwal Canal. Make an immediate left (so you are on the west side of the street) and head up to # 6-8.

Atmosphere is fantastic as you have a great outdoor terrace overlooking the Nieuwe Markt square, great table seating inside, and a good bar stool seating area as well. The bartender was fantastic. He was knowledgable, offered us 3 x 8oz samples of the house brews we were interested in, and made a good amount of conversation with us. I'll visit again.

This place is right on a canal and we sat outside to take advantage of the great weather and the people watching and the atmosphere was great. The quality of the brews was good, overall, but they only had three beers, which was just a little disappointing (but, hey, it is the only show in town, so they earn positive points for that). The staff was great and they let me sample the beers. We didn't have the food but they restaurant did look inviting. The beers were reasonably priced, albeit, I don't exactly remember what I paid. Anyway, worth a stop if you can pry yourself away from all of the other attractions.

I wasnt expecting to stumble across a brewpub in Amsterdam, but this was a pleasant find. The name means the reformed sister/nun (a reformed nun because now she is making beer).

This place was on the outskirts of the Red Light District. The atmosphere was good, there appeared to be a healthy mix of locals and tourists enjoying themselves. The bartender said it was a nice crowd for a Monday.

The service was very nice. The bartender didnt know much about the beer they brewed, but he was extrmely nice and enjoyable to talk to. Plus he didnt mind if I helped myself to a glass.

The selection was ok/good. When I went they had their 4 beers on tap:
Proelbier - 7.2%
Lende Bok - 5.5
Blonde Ros - 6.2
Witte Ros - 4.9

I had their proelbier, and it was a very nice triple a bit light but good.

They also had about 4 other belgians on tap and 50 or so bottles.

From what I remember their prices were very reasonable bordering on cheap.

If your in the RLD, stop in for a glass.

This used to be the old Maximilian brewery and now changed into Bekeerde Suster. No dramatic changes however.

Atmosphere: there was a good amount of people inside the place on a Saturday night. This made atmosphere nice, but the strange layout of the place made it a bit chaotic.
Quality was good, we had 2 of their own beers, a blond and a bock. The Blonde Ros was a very good beer with a nice hoppiness and maltiness with a clean aftertaste.
Service was just as good as it gets, nice service and present when needed.
Selection was a bit small, they produce beers, but they only have appr. 10 other beers available and not even very special ones.
Food was chicken with fries, pretty decent pub food.
I did not see the final bill, but I think prices were reasonable.
