This is the first line of Craft Beers available in India. Their IPA has been one of their initial offerings. Poured from the bottle into a goblet. It pours a voracious blood orange colour with a thin, suede coloured fizzy head that settles into a thin plate and disappears eventually. A lot of bubbles are seen making way up, but are lost in trasnsition subsequently. The redness makes it look like an American Red / Amber rather than an IPA.
The nose is a little toffee and caramel from the malt with some subdued floweriness from the hops. You can detect a little bit of citrus and pineapple, but its quite blunted and not very pervasive. Although, this kind of a bouquet is a big, bold step for the Indian brewing scene. The taste is solidly bitter, but slowly panning into a nice sweetness that makes your palate well hydrated, as if you were toying with a candy in your mouth. The taste is well balanced if you are used to hops - I remember I couldn't finish the bottle about a year back when I was a newbie. I have a bottle which is 6 months dated, I am sure the beer will be more superior in taste when had fresh - would definitely want to sample a fresh batch.
The mouthfeel will keep you busy - lively to say the least. Medium bodied and smooth. This beer is a good step up for the domestic craft scene, though it would be unfair to compare it with some of the IPAs of the Western World. If you are around in this part of the woods, highly recommended.
