This was the specialty brew for the season, and the waitress described it as a spiced dunkel. It was dark brown in color with a thin head that slowly receded to the rim during the drink. The aroma was pleasant, as spices and sweetness were clearly evident.
The flavor was malty with enough spice to entice the tongue but not offend it. Nutmeg and allspice were noticable, and maybe a hint of licorice. Smooth and refreshing on a cold afternoon. The finish was clean, and all the flavors slowly disappeared from the tongue after swallowing. Reasonably drinkable, and it does put you in the holiday spirit.
