Hand pulled. Almost black with a dense creamy head. Persistent lacing.
Malty aroma. Hints of chocolate with hedgerow fruit.
A light bitter coffee taste. Toasted bread. Sweet at the front with a dry finish.
Medium body. Cask conditioned feel.
Stout in name, porter in nature.

On tap at Lucky Baldwins in Pasadena, CA.
Pours a murky brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and char aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and char flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is mild and drinkable.

Poured from a 750ml flip-top bottle into several pint glasses.
Pours a dark brown/black colour with a nice head.
Smells rich and dark, chocolate and slight coffee, with some dark fruit - blackberries etc.
Taste reflects the smell really, classic dry stout. Excellent use of malts to create a quaffable stout with lots of taste and a bitter dryness.
Overall a really nice, drinkable beer. Wish I had more.
