Presentation: 12 fluid ounce brown glass bottle, the type that has a sloping neck. Main black label has a gold colored picture of an Inca style head carving. The words Peru are above and Gold below. Described as an Imported Peruvian Beer, that is listed at 5% ABV. No freshness date and listed on the reverse as imported by Logret Import/Export, CA 91746. Cost $1.39.
Appearance: Pours with a clear straw golden body, plenty of streamers and a nice looking white head that remains at about ¼ throughout the drink. Some light smattering on the glass walls. Solid carbonation.
Nose: Sweet pale malts with a light bready odor, pretty relaxed nose.
Taste: Crisp beginnings, some pale malts and a light bitterness. Not too much to report really, its a very clean crisp pale lager that neither excites nor upsets.
Mouthfeel: A light body is supported by the carbonation, but it is never more than average in the feel. A very Euro-Lager-like feel about. Crisp feel in the mouth, with no lingering nasties.
Drinkability: Very thirst quenching, and imminently drinkable. Quite a clean beer that does not suffer any corn or butterscotch detractions as most other beers of this ilk so often do.
Overall: Another one of those Ive never seen this before, its a single that is not too expensive, so I think Ill try it beers. Not bad, but I dont think I will be filling my Fridge with it in the near future.
