Called an “alt” porter in reference to an obsolete, traditional recipe using yarrow as an herbal balancing agent with just a small measure of hops. Unfortunately, neither the hops nor their substitute can save this anemic ale. It is thin and lackluster, with no expressed roastiness, an astringent mouthfeel, and medicinal phenols in abundance. Pass.
