Some people like this beer. I dont especially care for it. To appreciate it you must completely abandon all precepts of what pale ale is and approach this one on its own merits. Its core identity is found in the tart acidic pungency defining both the smell and taste. Embrace this premise and the beer is enjoyable. It is suggestive of a wheat beer in its dry contours, ochre cloudiness and eagerness to be paired with a wedge of lemon. The biting sharpness suggests either a harsh brewing deficit or a vivacious personality. You decide.
Grey Parrots Pale has big, cask-like suds and no CO2. Im scoring low for this one but it may strike your fancy. Its rife with technical shortcomings, but I did manage to appreciate it somewhat over time.
