Standard brown half liter bottle wiht a very plain white label that cries out "cheap beer." Ingredients conform to the purity law, however. Bottled 7/2/03, I opened it on 8/3/03.

Poured a dark, almost orangish gold under an extremely short lived fizzy white head that left a thin film on top of the liquid, but no lace and not much collar. The smell is very weak, but barley in character. The mouth is well carbonated, but with a sour heaviness lurking on the sides of the tongue. The initial taste is malty with just a touch of this fruity sourness. The finish plays up the almost lemony sour taste, leaving malt and fruit to compete for the aftertaste. Not totally unpleasant, overall, but hardly my favorite beer.
