This is an easy drinking and above-average bodied stout based on a moderate roast. Mellow with age, the head disapears, the carbonation is there but not intrusive in the drinking expeience. The aroma is there and mellowed as well. A good switch from the coffees and chocolates of North America, but oh yes it included those characteristics as well.

According to the label, this beer is the winner of a Danish home brewer competition. The recipe, created by Jesper Heilskov Nielsen, uses barley malt, wheat malt and rolled oats together with East Kent Goldings hops.
The colour is deep, deep brown. The very high head is airy and brown. It sinks very slowly, leaving some lacing.
The smell is dry and heavily roasted. Some sweet notes of porridge. There are notes of coffee and roasted nuts. Fresh, balanced and inviting!
The taste is heavily roasted and dry with some cream. But it is very balanced and some fruity hops balance the large amounts of malts. The long lasting aftertaste is malty with hints of smoke, rolled oats and liquorice.
I found this stout very creamy and highly drinkable.
The carbonation is surprisingly strong; lots of microscopic bubbles make it very refreshing without being sharp. The liquid is smooth, soooo smooth.
