Copenhagen 3/4 2017. 50 cl bottle from Kvickly. Obscurely dark label with gold lettering in order to make me feel that this is indeed a very distinguished brew. I get the impression that this beer is not aged in a port barrel but rather that it has been soaked in port wine.
Pours opaque dark brown - almost black - with small beige head. Settles as thin rim and floating patches of foam. Very moderate lacing.
Aroma of dark fermented sweet fruit, alcohol, sweet chocolate and more alcohol. Reminds me of Chocolate candy for grown ups called "Plums in Madeira". Notes of coffee.
Soft carbonation and thick palate.
Flavor is not very intense as I would expect from the aroma. Medium sweet followed by light coffee bitterness. Lingering.
Flavor is a bit of a let down after the orgy of odors.
