Traditionally, it is the heavy, dark beers that appear on the table at Christmas time, but here is a fruity and spicy alternative in the form of a real Christmas IPA. Mashed with 15% rye that binds with a crispy, bitter and spicy touch, rounded off by a suitable residual sweetness, as well as character from selected caramel - and appet malt. During a 90 minute boil we have hopped with Warrir and Columbus, but the real joker is the Japanese Sorachi Ace hops, we have dry hopped the beer with.
Notes of lemongrass, lime and even dill are felt in the background and help to make this a different and exciting Christmas beer - perfect for the fatty Christmas food.

Copenhagen 11/1 2018. 50 cl bottle from Østerbro Vin & Spiritus, Østerbrogade, Kbh. Ø. A Japanese inspired "Merry Christmas" due to using Japanese Hops.
Pours hazy amber with a big bubbly white head. Settles as a thin creamy layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Very moderate lacing.
Aroma is strong, dark and fruity. Kind of low key, sweet and exotic fruit with more heavy, tart, kind of acidic, citric notes.
Medium strong carbonation and a medium thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by a strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter, citric with sweeter notes of orange peel. Lingering.
Dry finish. Nice basic sweetness from the Rye and more than a pesence of hops. Really nice take on a different Christmas Brew.
