The colour is dark brown, almost black (90 EBC), the liquid is clear. The finger thick compact head is pale brown. It sinks quite quickly leaving no lacing.
The smell is roasted with some sweet raisins, spicy black peppers and sour hints of black malts. Hints of black pepper, plastic phenols (which I don’t like), nuts and a smooth bitterness. Is is more dry than sweet.
The taste is roasted. Some dark chocolate and hints of liquorice and passing notes of plastic phenols and yeast. Clean mild bitter flavours. Some dry cherries. Light body. The aftertaste is malty and roasted with some pumpernickel bread notes, tobacco, white and black pepper. It is surprisingly light. The finish is dry, flour-ish amd a bit stale with hints of wet paper.
The carbonation is medium to strong, the bubbles sharp. The liquid is dry.
No, didn’t like this very much. To much phenols and yeast
