Poured from the tap a clear amber gold with a moderate white head and minimal lacing.
Aroma of pine and grapefruit hops abound.
Tastes of pine and grapefruit hops. Also a nice malt presence for good balance. Not a weak IPA by any means.
Light-to-medium mouthfeel with decent carbonation.
This is quite an enjoyable IPA from Alandale. I'll definitely be back for another.

Had this at the brewpub with my big juicy burger.
A - Golden amber hue with a small white cap and lots of sticky lace.
S - Fresh pine needles and sap, along with some orange rind and grapefruit citrus. Could stand to be a bit more pungent, but that's a minor complaint....this smells like an IPA should.
T - Big musty pine forest flavors with lots of citrus rind too. Big-time hops are appreciated, and a slightly metallic undertone adds complexity.
M - Medium bodied, dusty, and very dry with some nice tingly carbonation and acidity.
D - Goes great with food! The acidic and bitter hop knife cut right through the tasty burger I had for dinner. Also a nice session choice.

Clear light amber gold. Extremely fine white head settles to a thin cap.
Nice combination of citrusy American hops, crackery malt, and a touch of caramel on the nose. Seems to be several hops going on here, but they work well together.
Beautifully balanced in the mouth with the hops and malt working together very well. It's quite bitter, and the stiff spine of IBUs carries a complex blend of bread, cracker and caramel to a long finish.
Mouthfeel is fine, with enough mineral goodness to let the hops snap at the death. Really drinkable for the style and strength. Wonderful beer.

Appearance - Clear, golden, very good carbonation with a finger to finger and a half white foamy head. Head retention was good and stayed around through about half the pint, after that I had great lacing and some head skimming the top.
Smell - Citrus, a little pine, and what smelled like Amarillos. Very balanaced and overall a very good mix.
Taste - There was the taste of citrus in there, but it was more...pugnant?....no....more like a grapefruit, but at the same time the pleasantness of an orange. I got hints of pine again, if you've ever tasted pine...and of course the hops. Bartender said they use Amarillos.
Mouthfeel - Crisp, light, with a full body. Goes down smooth and leaves a nice cool, refreshing afterbite.
Drinkability - I'll be drinking it again. They brew it year round, so I may stop by and get a growler for the next party or BBQ this summer.
Show up for happy hour and get beers for $2/pint compared to $3.75/pint

Imperial pint poured at Alandale. The body was clear and rich golden in color with an off-white head that showed some retension.
Aroma was floral and earthy.
Taste was bright bitterness up front with a quick change to mild sweetness and a pleasant dry finish. Nothing groundbreaking but a nice IPA.
Mouthfeel was medium with appropriate carbonation.

5/08/07 Oh my reviewed another batch tonite. Head over heals inprovement. Now nicely well balanced with a solid citrus pine with malt backbone. THIS, I could go for on a session basis! Cheers
Per the norm with Alandales brews, a rather nice frothy ivory head that would leave sheets o lace down the glass. Very nice start to the brew that
Offered just some subtle hints of malt and hop. I was expecting a little bigger aroma, but when .
I gave er a taste, did I receive a jolt! TONS of a sharp, stinging pine, thistle and citurs greeted me. Couple little hints of floral, this is an eye opening brew. I finished the pint off, but
dont know if I really dig the over-pined brew. And I generally go for IPA and their big brother, IIPA.
