Pours a clear, dark red color with 1/3 inch head. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of sweet malt, hops, and a slight lager component. Fits the style quite nicely. Crisp with good carbonation. Bitterness of the hops is readily apparent with a smooth malt background. The two flavors complement each other very nicely. The abv is relatively high and makes this a good bodied full beer. Overall, a strong kick along with some hops - just what I want from a irish red ale.

Shaker pint shows up with a clear copper pour, topped off with a good 1" thick foamy tan cap. Resinous malt aroma, even a pop of doughy biscuit.

And yep, the quaff has the woody bread backbone of malt, but finishes with a good hop push. Also, I'm detecting a bit of butter in the mix, they'd better watch out for it or it may overtake the brew. Thankfully, the hops kick in and smoothes this brew out.
