Poured from bomber found lingering in the back of the fridge, probably approaching a year old, tan 1 finger head, so so retention and good lacing. Clear amberish in the glass. Slight roasted malt and bread on the nose. Taste is initially sweet malt, with some dark bread notes coming in. Earthy hop bitters, so slight, just enough to tame the sweetness. Nice pleasant aftertaste. Great beer even with some age on it.

Shiner Texas Warmer has a pretty thick, ivory head, a semi-clear burnt sienna appearance, some lacing, and a few bubbles. The aroma and flavor are strong on spice-oriented brown bread and low on hop bitterness. This should appeal to the malt fans. Mouthfeel is low-medium, and Shiner Texas Warmer finishes decently crisp and very drinkable. RJT

This one was creamy and steamy. I felt this was shiner bock on steriods as in this beer packed more of an alcohol punch than shiner bock does. This wasn't quite an ale but felt it was a doppelbock.

Texas warmer, edicion limitada es la que mas me ha gustado de Spoetzel. Mas cuerpo y mas sabor a malta.

Appearance: Deep reddish-amber, with a touch of haze. A large, somewhat coarse white head retains well, and presents thick, glass-coating lace. Slight, fine carbonation drifts lazily to the surface.
Aroma: Dark bread and caramel vie with mild earthy hops to present a harmonious aroma. The high ABV (for Shiner) offers not a hint of its presence.
Taste: The taste begins with dark bread, caramel, and earthy hops. The high ABV of 6.8% is artfully concealed, being noted neither in the taste, nor in a warming sensation. This seems more like a pleasing session beer, but one that would pack a serious punch. Later in the taste, the earthy hops ascend. Finishes with an earthy note, with hints of wood, and faint alcohol.
Mouth feel: Full and soft, with gracious carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: Its good, in fact, for its price point of less than three dollars for a bomber, its excellent. Three cheers to the little brewery in Shiner, Texas, which just gets better with time.
Presentation: Packaged in a twenty-two ounce brown glass bomber with a twist-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

A 1" off white head drops quickly with mild lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, molasses, toffee, caramel and herbal hops. Medium mouthfeel with a damp finish. Flavors echo the aroma dark fruit, raisins, whole wheat bread, caramel, herbal and a bit of pine hops. Overall a very well done winter warmer.

Look: pours a medium brown color, crystal clear, tan-beige head.
Smell: smells sweet and a bit hoppy.
Taste: tastes like it smells. It starts sweet and malty, finishes nice with a small hoppy bite, but not a bad bite.
Feel: mouthfeel is medium-medium heavy. Good level of carbonation.
Overall: damn this is a good beer. My only regret is I didn't get more when I was home. This is one of the best beers I've had in a while.
This is one of my top 3 from Shiner, including about 18 other brews. Definitely worth a try, even if you're not into Ale's. I've been trying to get more into them and this brew has really done the trick, with a 6.8% ABV to boot.

Poured from a bomber into a small juice glass (at the in-laws for Christmas). Medium brown color, beige head and thin lacing. Pleasant warm spice smell and taste. Malty caramel with nutmeg and cinnamon. Nice winter beer from Texas.
